Real Expressions from a Real Family | St. Louis Photographer

I am so lucky that I know this family “in real life”. However, sometimes knowing my clients personally can make a photo session more stressful for me. I am more self-conscious about what I say to get everyone to laugh because I have to face them again and try to act like I didn’t just make jokes about bodily functions! Anyway, I think this for this session, it was good that I knew them because the kiddos were more playful with me and we got some genuine expressions – my favorite!

Hopefully, you can tell by my work that I love photos were the parents say that the expression I captured is exactly how they see their own children. Sometimes that means that the kids aren’t looking at the camera or they aren’t smiling perfectly.

This session was almost all genuine expressions. The photos I chose for this blog post aren’t the perfect postcard smiling family but they are the photos I love best – the “real” ones. I hope you enjoy!

One last thing, these kiddos have the best hair!
